WHITE LIQUEUR WINE ”ANTIQUI” LINE
The controlled denomination of origin “Marsala”, “Vino Marsala” and “Vino di Marsala” must be integrated according to the characteristics of the product by the legal qualifiers... Fine, Superiore, Superiore Riserva, Vergine (or Soleras), Vergine Riserva (or Soleras Riserva or Vergine Stravecchio or Soleras Stravecchio) is reserved for liqueur wines, Gold, Amber and Ruby in colour, which meet the conditions and requirements established in law 28 November 1984, n. 851, as well as those provided for by the production specifications. It is man who makes this area unique, an authentic cradle of the Mediterranean civilization of vines and wine. In fact, all the peoples who have settled there over the millennia have implemented its natural winemaking vocation: giving rise to a combination of passion and tradition, cultures and crops. The factors present in the typical production area of Marsala DOC wine consist of specific conditions which overall determine truly exclusive characteristics. It can be deduced that the qualitative qualities of wine represent the organoleptic result of the climatic and geological elements typical of a particularly suitable geographical area, but also of the customs that have been perpetuated there since time immemorial. DOC Marsala wine obtained the recognition of the Controlled Designation of Origin on 2 April 1969.
100% Grillo, Cataratto (all varieties) Inzolia or Ansonica and Damaschino grape varieties alone or together. The geographical area dedicated to the production of Marsala DOC wine extends across the flat areas of the coastal strip and the hinterland of Marsala and Trapani; in an area that is adequately ventilated, bright and conducive to carrying out all the vegetative-productive functions of the vineyards.
In the winemaking phases, only the loyal and constant oenological practices of the area are permitted, which are designed to give the wines their particular quality characteristics.
